Who We Are
Kelsey Klingenberg
Kelsey, the owner and principal of AMPERSAND HOME, has spent nearly a decade professionally staging & designing homes, though her passion for decor and design started back in the late 80s with a four-story colonial dollhouse gifted from her folks. After learning from her dad how to move furniture solo using carpet scraps, she was hooked. With a background in production and photography, she has a knack for creating eye-catching vignettes that showcase each home's best features. Her authentic approach to interiors reflects the soul of PDX: funky, individual, and always cozy. With a deep love for vintage furniture and historic charm, Kelsey revels in transforming spaces into something extra special for those who occupy them.
In her free time, you can find Kelsey enjoying some Americana tunes, tackling ongoing home projects with her hubby, and wrangling her three dogs, cat, and chickens (and convincing you to fill your home with rescue animals, too.)
Jocelyn Arnold
Jocelyn brings soul tunes, earth tones, splashes of hot pink, and a lifelong love affair with stripes to our crew. She's been working with and amplifying all things Ampersand since the fall of 2021, and we can't imagine doing this work without her; when you find your people, things just click. And boy do they click. Her flair for mixing bold patterns, earthy tones, and punches of color makes every space she touches feel intentional and alive.
When Jocelyn isn’t telling a house’s story through impeccable curation, she’s camping, skiing, or dancing with her husband, two kiddos, and very good dog.
Taylor Ruby Bell
Taylor made the leap from NYC to Portland during the pandemic and quickly fell in love with the city’s creative energy and community spirit. With a background as an art dealer and a passion for collecting fine art, Taylor has brought a unique, eclectic flair to her work with Ampersand since the fall of 2022. She loves blending furniture and objects from different eras and locales to craft curated, unexpected spaces that tell a story.
When not shaping homes, Taylor can be found in her NE Portland home with her husband, daughter, and their charming three-legged tuxedo cat, Seymour. She also channels her artistic vision into sculptural vessels for her namesake brand, Ruby Bell Ceramics.
Diana Walsh
Diana’s love for travel fuels her design inspiration, incorporating unique aesthetics and curated pieces into both her work and home. Since joining Ampersand in November 2024, her bold use of greens and oranges has added a radiant harmony to our team’s style. As an art major who nearly majored in statistics instead, Diana brings a creative-yet-analytical side that was a puzzle piece we hadn’t realized was missing until we had it.
Off the [vintage] clock, Diana has a fondness for slow mornings with coffee, hot baths in the evening, and exploring Portland’s vibrant food scene any time of day. At home, she enjoys spending time with her two beloved pups, who never stray far from her side.
Kate Oliver
Kate’s refined earthy and artsy style not only fits in perfectly with the Ampersand crew, but enhances it. Since joining in November 2024, her love for layering light with thoughtfully placed lamps not only sealed the deal that she belonged with us, but has elevated our spaces to the next level. A lover of desert-rich palettes, her nature-inspired style seamlessly helps us bring the cozy warmth that we’re known for. If you’re sensing a pattern with the vibe and tones in our crew’s style—well, that’s design for you.
Aside from unearthing the potential waiting within rooms, Kate enjoys curling up with a good book, going for a hike, taking a long bath, and spending time with her partner, their daughter, and their two dogs.
