Who We Are

Kelsey Klingenberg

Kelsey, the owner and principal of AMPERSAND HOME, has spent nearly a decade professionally staging & designing homes, though her passion for decor and design started back in the late 80s with a four-story colonial dollhouse gifted from her folks. After learning from her dad how to move furniture solo using carpet scraps, she was hooked. With a background in production and photography, she has a knack for creating eye-catching vignettes that showcase each home's best features. Her authentic approach to interiors reflects the soul of PDX: funky, individual, and always cozy. With a deep love for vintage furniture and historic charm, Kelsey revels in transforming spaces into something extra special for those who occupy them.

In her free time, you can find Kelsey enjoying some Americana tunes, tackling ongoing home projects with her hubby, and wrangling her three dogs, cat, and chickens (and convincing you to fill your home with rescue animals, too.)

Diana Walsh

Diana’s love for travel fuels her design inspiration, incorporating unique aesthetics and curated pieces into both her work and home. Since joining Ampersand in November 2024, her bold use of greens and oranges has added a radiant harmony to our team’s style. As an art major who nearly majored in statistics instead, Diana brings a creative-yet-analytical side that was a puzzle piece we hadn’t realized was missing until we had it.

Off the [vintage] clock, Diana has a fondness for slow mornings with coffee, hot baths in the evening, and exploring Portland’s vibrant food scene any time of day. At home, she enjoys spending time with her two beloved pups, who never stray far from her side.

Stephanie Bentley

Bringing with her a background in overseeing retail marketing campaigns and product copy, Stephanie specializes in creating structure, building clear plans, and ensuring our projects run smoothly from start to finish. Two of her passions (strengths?) include organizing and helping people, which has made working with Ampersand an ideal fit - supporting the planning and logistics of staging projects allows her to bring order and clarity behind the scenes, ensuring each space looks its best, and the process runs seamlessly for both us and our clients.

Outside of work, you’ll often find her shuttling her two kids to activities, coaching their sports teams, running, and/or walking their rescue dog - always striving for that energized and balanced combo.

Ayden Meyer

Ayden has an appreciation for vintage, character-filled pieces with a good backstory (or patina) which makes her a natural stylistic fit for Ampersand Home. With experience in interior and prop styling as well as ceramics studio work, she has a hands-on appreciation of form, material, and the little details that make a space work while also looking good. She knows how to lean into what gives a space added character - whether it be a vintage statement piece, handmade object, or perfectly imperfect detail - Ayden enjoys the puzzle of walking into an empty room and building something cohesive and soulful from the ground up.

Constantly inspired by estate sales, mid-century design, and pieces with real history, when she’s not styling for Ampersand, she’s likely hunting for unique treasures, watching old films, taking day trips, or diving into architectural history (an obsession of which she naturally blames on Frank Lloyd Wright).
